About A&E Vela Ranch

A&E Vela Ranch encompasses approximately 425 acres of South Texas brush country in the heart of Duval County.  The ranch was originally purchased in 2014 by Drs. Amy and Eric Vela and has undergone extensive game management and improvements with the goals of establishing a premier hunting ranch for whitetail deer and exotic species, while ensuring a family friendly haven for entertainment and enjoyment.

Amy and Eric Vela are both native to the South Texas area growing up in Corpus Christi, Texas and returned to Corpus Christi in 2010 following their academic endeavors in dentistry.  They have three children (Mia, Matthew, and Madelyn) and two Brittany spaniels (Roxy and Bailey).  With a love of the outdoors and desire to have a getaway for family, friends and dogs alike, A&E Vela Ranch was born and they begin the process of creating their dream ranch.

In pursuit of these goals, we have pursued an intensive whitetail game management program in order to maximize native South Texas genetics, while providing a supplemental feeding program to maximize the potential.  These efforts have yielded immaculate success with the successful production of large South Texas native whitetail deer that consistently produce large framed deer in the 170 to 250 B&C range.  We follow a strict protocol of harvesting only mature deer and have consistently entered and won multiple categories in Muy Grande deer contest over the past few years.

A&E Vela Ranch has also expanded into the exotic species including blackbuck, axis deer, Red Stag deer, and fallow.  We have focused on bringing in the best genetics and have provided the same supplemental feed programs to ensure proper development and health.
